✨ The Zodiac, Honestly
Real constellations, old myths, traditional traits · the daily line is the fun page, said plainly
The zodiac in one honest place: every sign’s real constellation, actual mythology and traditional temperament, with the daily line labelled for exactly what it is. Start with the sky itself:
Read this as a fun page, not a forecast. Astrology is culture — thousands of years of sky-watching and pattern-making — not science: nothing on these pages claims the stars predict anything. What is factual here — the constellations, the myths, the calendar history and the precession that moved the signs off their own stars — is stated as fact.

The astronomy the calendar forgot
The twelve signs were fixed in Babylon around the 5th century BC, when the spring equinox rose in Aries and each sign matched the constellation it was named for. Earth’s axis slowly wobbles — a circle in about 26,000 years, called precession of the equinoxes — and the equinox point has since slid almost a full month backwards along the ecliptic. Today the Sun actually sits in Pisces at the start of "Aries season," takes only about six days to cross tiny Scorpius, and spends eighteen days in Ophiuchus, the Serpent-Bearer — a thirteenth constellation the ecliptic crosses that the Babylonians left out to keep their calendar at twelve. The tropical zodiac astrology uses was never meant to track the stars: it marks the seasons, starting at the vernal equinox, and has kept perfect astronomical time on that contract for two millennia — it is simply a different contract from "the sign equals the constellation."
Each sign page carries its own piece of this: where the Sun really is, what the ancients saw in the stars, and the traditional attributes stated as tradition. The Sky Tonight pages show the actual sky for tonight.
